We have 30 or so printers and 200 users, who connect into our two terminal
servers, where they do all their work.
At present there is no printer naming strategy and it is a nightmare
selecting the appropriate printer. New users get very confused.
So we are intending to have a printer naming strategy (eg. building
name_floor_model ie. longst_flr2_hp2000) or similar, changing the printer
names and the share names. Simple enough. The idea will be to create a new
duplicate printer object with the new name, add that to users' profiles,
delete the old one and then when all users changed over, delete the old
printer object off the server.
My question is, is there anyway to automate this? Otherwise I will have to
go through each user's profile in turn. Ideally to find all users who use x
printer, add the new printer to their profile and delete the old one.
