I just transferred my website from an older version of Frontpage to Frontpage
2003. It was set on server based publishing, but now I want to do some hefty
revamping, so I would like to change back to disk-based. How do I change
over? I have only found instructions on how to start a website publishing
one way or the other, but what do you do with an already established one?
and is this the best way to continue editing my website when I need to do
hefty revamping but don't have a lot of time to do it all at once?

help help!

Thank you!!!!

You can change the publishing type and destination in the Remote Web Site View - Remote Web Site Properties

I went to the Remote Web Site properties and didn't see anything that
specifically stated whether it was server based or web based. The only thing
that was remotely related was the "Remote Website Location" which was set to
a network drive (but my site still publishes changes when I press "change").
Help!

thanks,
Laura

You have 4 choices on the Remote Web Site tab of Remote Web Site properties
- the last one being a File location which is a disc based web

It's strange, it was already set to: W:\LAURA DAVIDOFF\Wesite Work\Web Backup
September 21 2005. This would appear to be a network drive (we have a W:\
drive) but it still publishes like server based. Is there another way to
fix this?

Thanks for all of your Help!

What are you expecting to happen that would be different between server and disk based when
publishing?

I want to be able to work on my website, save it, and not have all of my work
published immediately. I don 't want a page published if I am only half done
editing it (or if I am creating a new page and it is not ready to be
published yet). I wouldn't mind sticking with server based if not everything
was published when i hit "save." Does this make sense or am I missing
something?

Thanks a lot,
laura

If you are working on your local pc, you don't have to worry about
publishing to your remote server until you choose to do so.

On a live/remote server, you would save the page under a different name until you are really to
replace the current page with your new version.
