Why can't I change the security settings to use an online
virus checker. I also cannot load the Norton internet
security antivirus software - why?

What error messages are you seeing?
Has this system ever had AV software installed?
Was it up to date?
Do you have internet access?

Most AV vendors have online scanns to clean viruses from your workstation.
What happens when you attempt an online scan of your workstation?
