I have been using Outlook Express and now have Outlook. Have been able to
import address book and mail but emails are still coming to Express. How do I
change things so they come to my Outlook inbox? Thanks

You have to setup your account(s) in Outlook (Tools\Email Accounts in 2003)
and then quit using Express. You can also import your mail, address book,
and account settings from Express using the Outlook Import/Export tool
(File\Import Export...). Afterward, you should delect your account in
Express (Tools\Accounts\<select mail account>\Remove) so that you do not
accidently download any more with it.

No do NOT import mail within Outlook. many Outlook functions depend on the
"modified date" of messages. If you import within Outlook then all the
messages will have their modified date changed to that of the date of
import.

In Outlook Express, do File-Export. That keeps the dates original.

Just stop using OE.
This assumes OL has been set up correctly

It really helps if you say what versions are involved!

Here is an article referring to OE--> Outlook 2000:

And here's one for Outlook 2002 and 2003:

Thanks for the tip. I have always used export in OE too. I did not realize
that import from Outlook would reset the dates. Of course this is not
desirable, so the import approach should be avoided for mail items.
