In the Outlook 2007 Navigation pane there is a set of buttons at the bottom.
When I start Outlook the Journal button is always set to the built-in Journal
folder. I need to access a different folder that holds journal items (it is
a sub folder of the main journal folder) most of the time. So I expand the
navigation pane, click the journal button and select the desired folder.
From then on the journal button opens the desired folder until Outlook is
closed. Starting Outlook again the Journal button is reset back to the
original folder. Is there anyway to keep the button pointing at the desired
folder? This is especially annoying because Outlook frequently decides it
has encountered a "problem" and needs to close.

no, you can't reprogram the button.
