Changing a networked computer to a stand-alone

I was changing an old networked business computer to a
stand-alone one to use at home. Part of what I was trying
to do was make it sign on automatically, without
password. I succeeded at that, and deleted the old domain
name, but now cannot access Microsoft Office programs,
even though they are still on my drive (and could access
them under my old domain name).

I can use all other programs on my computer, just not
Microsoft Office. I'm sure I did many things wrong ...
this system is way too complicated for a novice. But how
do I set it right?
