I have 2 WinXP computers linked by USB to make a peer
network. Each computer has the same 3 users with the same
user accounts. Unfortunately, the folder names that
Windows XP set up are not the same. For example, on one,
my user data is stored in "C:\Documents and
Settings\Owner\..." On the other computer, my user files
are in "C:\Documents and Settings\John Smith\..."
All 3 User account folder names are different between the
two systems and this creates a hassle with my file-
synchronization software (since each account must be
synched individually). Is there a way to change the
folder name for a user account so that all programs will
be properly notified of the change? I know I may change
the location of "My Documents" for each account, but
chaning the main user folder would be a much cleaner
solution.
Any suggestions?
