Also which the last fella should have told you. The Win
XP may not recover you from your problem. It may work but
there are no gaurentees. I recommend you just doing a
fresh install of the OS and applications. I know this is
alot of work but int he end you will be happier you did
it. Windows XP is a very stable OS and a good one and
recovering from problems. Your probably not going to have
that stable of a system and it probably is going to give
you more problems that your going to haev to deal with
altere down the line if not immediate.
When your talking about changing such drastic hardware,
such as a motherboard, your getting into a dangerous
area. Your not even in the similar chipsets anymore your
in a completely different chipset. There are alot of
components thats have drivers and other software
installed for it in your OS. When you change motherboards
alot of things are still going to be looking for the old
hardware and you can run into major problems. Ultimately,
damaging your OS and causing you to start from scratch
anyway. So if there is alot of data you want to save from
your hard-drive and you dont have another hard-drive,
then either get one or just leave it be and do the
recovery.
Hope This Helps,
Chris P.
