Hmm, that is the way I received it....was from a cell camera phone sent via
email.. Have tried several others as well (not from the same source).
Can't be that all of my .jpg's that I have tested were or are really bmp's.

Bad news. It's not a jpg. It's a bmp file named as a jpg. Jpgs and png can
only be used in Thumbnail view.
