Changing icon for documents from e.g. Excel

I've changed to icon for Excel, but it's the original icon that continues to
appear when I save a document. Is it also possible to change the icon for all
saved documents? Automatically, not manually I mean.

Hi Abi,

How did you chance the icon for Excel? Did you use the "File Types" tab?
Detailed steps would help us understand the issue better.

My problem with windows xp pro is that my settings keep changing on there own.
