Most of my music in wmp are wma format.need to change them to mp3 format for
my portable device.was wondering if anyone could tell me how to change the
format.Thanks

Free programs like dbpoweramp are good for this. Note that transcoding
compressed files is lossy in terms of sound quality.

You can also google on the phrase "convert wma to mp3" for other options.

One way is to burn them to a music cd and then rerip them as mp3 files using
Windows Media Player 10. Probably not practical if you have more than a few
CDs.

This isn't really to be recommended as different formats (mp3, wma, ogg etc)
compress using different encoding tecniques and the degradation in quality is
more than is entailed by a straight CD rip to a lossy format. The fact that
you *can* go from wma to mp3 is really irrelevant. The best solution is to
re-rip from the original source.
