To change a template, go to View > Master > Slide Master. Make your changes
and then go to File > Save as and select Design Template (*.POT). Remember,
this is all in the Master view.
To change the default font in the above step, select the Text tool, click in
an empty area on the slide master and go to Format > Font. Make your
preferred settings including size, color, etc. and check the box that says
"Default for new objects" and click OK.
When saving your template, you might want to save it where PowerPoint will
automatically find it and list it in the available templates. See
