Changing font size changes desktop color

When I change the desktop Display Properties | Appearance | Font Size from
Normal to Large, or v. v., and then click OK, the desktop color changes. I
normally use Desktop | Background = (None), and use the light blue color
from the basic color template (Red = 0, Green = 255, Blue = 255). After I
change Font Size, the desktop changes to a dark blue (Red = 0, Green = 78,
Blue = 152). I can then easily change it back manually.

Is this normal? Does it indicate a potentially serious problem? What
should I do about it?

Windows XP Home 2002 SP 3. 1240x1024 pixels, 32-bit color.
