Learner driver.

In my mad rush to install programs on the new XP,
I loaded Works, excel, all in the one user, which has
turned out to be my son.
Now I have made a user profile myself, I need to
get all the files /icons etc across to my user,
and send all his plethora of games icons
over to him, I don't want them.

Could someone advise how to achieve, or simply advise what
string to put in the help box?

Thanks very much.

You only need to remember these rules:
- Shortcuts kept in c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop
can be seen by all users.
- Shortcuts kept in c:\Documents and Settings\Rod\Desktop
can be seen by you only.

Armed with these rules you can now move the various shortcuts
to their appropriate location.

I find myself in another fix,

I am the Administrator, (Rodney)
my son logs on under Cody

Looking at C:\documents and settings
The details are:

All Users
Default user
Guest
Owner
Rodney

No sign of Cody at all.

What should the hiearchy be ideally?
it seems rather mixed up to me.

Thanks very much.
R.

Log on as Cody, then do this:
- Click Start / Run / cmd {OK}
- Type this command:
echo %UserProfile%{Enter}

What do you see? Does this profile folder exist?
Is it maybe hidden? If you think that it does not
exist, can you create it manually?

There is your answer: The profile folder for "Cody" is
c:\documents and settings\owner.

Thanks,
I've seen similar things done with mirrors.
We newbies have a tough life (sigh).
but thanks for the time addressing my problem.
