Dear Group,
Is there any way to change the default slide layout so it doesn't
automatically open up with a title and bullet points below. I know I can
click on the layout I want to change it when I've added a new one but I'd
ideally want to set the default layout to a blank slide with just a title.
Is this possible? I'm using PP 2003 and SP2
Eddie

Look at the free Set Default Slide Layout add-in at
http://officeone.mvps.org/addins.html. It should do the job.

Shyam has an add-in that will do this.

You want "set default layout" at the bottom of the page.

Thanks for your help but... I've tried both and although I'm able to add the
add-in... it makes no difference and adds nothing to the Tools drop down
list. Do I need to be doing something really obvious to make the add-in
work? I've tried restarting...

Are you sure you were able to add it?

Turn your macro security to medium -- Tools|Macro|Security -- then install
the add-in.

At http://skp.mvps.org/setlayout.htm it says in Instructions that a
"defaults" combo box will appear on your Standard toolbar. There's also a
screenshot of it so you can see what you're looking for.

Perhaps you can't see all the icons on your Standard toolbar? If that's the
case, either click the 3 dots at the end of the toolbar so you can see all
the icons or set the toolbars to show on 2 rows. That's under
Tools|Customize|Options, show toolbars on two rows.

Try changing the Macro Security (Tools => Macros...=> Macros => Security) to
medium or low and restarting PowerPoint.
