Changing default email account when forwarding

I have two email accounts in Outlook 2007. One is an old account that I
still get emails through, even though it has been cancelled. The other one
is my primary account. I have set my new account as the default in Outlook,
but when I go to forward an email, it automatically tries to use the older
account to send it, which of course is undeliverable.
How can I configure Outlook so that my default account remains when
forwarding?
