XP Pro has this weird cursor, which looks like a railroad spike. Visualize a capital T missing the upper bar left of the vertical. It shows up in Outlook Express, in Word, and here. Can this be changed? What alternative cursors might there be?

C:\WINDOWS\Cursors

Start | Settings | Control Panel | Mouse |
Pointers tab

[[To change all of your pointers at one time, select a new scheme under
Scheme.

To change one pointer, select it in the Customize list. Click Browse, and
then double-click the name of the new pointer you want to use for that task.

A pointer scheme is any combination of pointers used on your desktop. You
can change any number of pointers and then save them as a new scheme by
clicking Save As under Scheme. The new scheme will appear in the list under
Scheme.]]

Hope this helps. Let us know.

No, changing these schemes does produce different cursors for moving ovcer the desktop, and clicking on icons, but the specific cursor I don't like is a test line railroad spike found in Outlook Express (among other text applications). It did not change
