No. The Taskbar is actually a Window Title Bar, without the Window.

My taskbar changed from blue to beige or grey, and I haven't been able to
change it back. The default(blue) color scheme is not available. If I
select Windows Classic or Windows Standard, the color of the taskbar does not
change. However, if I select something like "Lilac", it does change, along
with everything else. If I select "Advanced" and then change the color of
the Active Window, that changes, but not the taskbar.

Hi driller,

Go to :http://www.tune-up.com/products/tuneup-utilities/ and download
TuneUp Utilities 2008 which comes as a 30-day Full Version Trial Copy.
Inside the program is a section called TuneUp Styler 2 in the TuneUp
Utilites 2007 version.

It allows you to change Color Scheme which handles the taskbar color.

But have you try System Restore?

The last 3 system restore points did not work. I've actually gotten used to
the Lilac. Just wonder why the Default (blue) color scheme is no longer
available. Didn't xp originally come with only blue, silver and green? I
have about 20 options (like spruce and maple), but no blue. Some of the
colors change everything BUT the taskbar, but Lilac and Maple change
everything.

Hi driller,

Question: If you create a new Computer Administrator User ID is the
Original Default Blue Theme available to use? If it is, then your current
User ID has become corrupt and you should use the new one and delete the old
one.

WINDOWS XP STYLE IS MISSING

When you open the 'Display Properties-->Appearance' tab
you find that the "Windows XP Style" theme is missing from
the "Windows and buttons:" drop down window.

This tutorial will show you how to fix it.

Instructions:

1. Download the Luna theme resource files from here:

Line 187, right side: "Restore Luna Theme"
Webpage: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
Download: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs.../Resources.zip

2. Extract the zip file to C:\WINDOWS\
(Answer yes if asked to overwrite)

3. Copy below and paste into Notepad:
