Changing the background size ?

Is there any way to resize the desktop background when the 'Centered'
display option is selected? What we want to do is use a DreamScene or video
for our background, but we want to resize how much space it occupies in the
background.

The purpose for doing this is to control the size of the remaining borders
or margins, which are a solid color, where we organize our icons into
logical groupings for quick access. We are trying to reserve a slightly
larger border area of the desktop so that icons are not halfway overlapped
by the centered background.

Thank you for any help.

Not unless you change desktop resolution or Crop the video. You just have to
work with existing options available for positioning the picture.

Thank you for the reply Andre. However, this limitation is a real pity. It
seems that allowing the user to set the size of the window in the middle of
the desktop would have been a simple, but very nice feature. They appear to
have left enough border to accommodate the gaget sidebar on the right, but
not enought for three columns of desktop icons on the left side, as we
desire to do.

Off course, lowering the resolution to accommodate this simple option would
be out of the question for us. Furthermore, lowering the resolution would
affect the icons also and might not accomplish what we desired anyway.
Cropping doesn't particularly help either, since that option simply fills
the screen (no borders).

Thank you for the reply.
