I have a laptop running Windows 2000. It is connected to
a 42 inch plasma screen in the conference room. How do I
change to aspect ratio on my laptop to match the screen so
it does not stretch the image?

Right click a blank area of the desktop.
Choose "Properties"
Click the "Settings" tab
Move the "Screen Area" slider to a more appropriate setting.

Chances are pretty good that your laptop video card doesn't support a more
appropriate setting.
