Changing Active Partition

In the Disk Management snap-in tool, the first partition
on DISK 0, (c:drive) is marked as BOOT and the first
partition on DISK 1,(d: drive) is marked as SYSTEM.

Do I need to copy the system files (NTLDR, NTDETECT.COM,
BOOT.INI) from DISK 1 to DISK 0 before I mark DISK 0 as
active?

My objective is to re-partition and reformat DISK 1.

Thanks for you help.
