I have a spreadsheet with cells that are created by calculating values on
another spreadsheet. I'd like to send this worksheet to a client, who won't
have access to the referenced spreadsheets. How can I change the properties
of the cells such that they become "static"?

Save the workbook as a new name (don't break the real version).

For each worksheet you want to send
select all the cells
edit|copy
edit|paste special|values

Delete the sheets you don't want to send.
Save it (again)
Mail that version.

Dave,

Or, from the original sheet, you could use "Move or Copy" in the right-click
menu on a sheet tab, specifying "New book" for the destination, and "Create
a copy." That will leave you in the new book with a copy of the sheet.
Then do the Paste-Special - Values on that sheet. Now save, or email
directly from that new workbook with File - Send to.
