Could some one tell me the correct way to change a usb Drive letter back to
it's original letter . I just completed an upgrade from XP Home to XP Pro and
everything went well except still a couple of problems and this is one of
them. I know to use Disk Mang. but how to choose the correct path I'm not
sure of.

Follow the guide below, just make sure that the USB drive is connected
while you do it.
