You cannot add a comain user account to a workgroup
computer. As someone else has said, you need to find the
password for a local administrator's account.

It is a good idea to be logged on as a
local administrator when you make changes like removing a
computer from a domain. This gives you confidence that
you'll be able to log on afterwards.
