My Windows was automatically updated recently. I don't remember for which
program or harware driver, there was a question asking if the Windows focus
be shifted by moving the mouse pointer on to the opened window, instead of by
clicking on it. (clicking on an opened window to make that window to get
focus is the default setting, I belive). I mistakenly selected "Yes". Now
whenever I move the mouse to another window when I am working on an active
window, the focus is shifted to that window, making the active widow losing
the focus. This has brought me much inconvenience. I thought this was
caused my mouse settings (I use Microsoft IntelliPoint supported wireless
optical mouse.). I tried to fix the problem in mouse settings, but the mouse
preperty settings do not have any control of Windows focus shiftting. Is
there anyone here can help me to get back the original settings for focus
shifting?, i.e. by mouse clicking to make shift, instead of by moving over
the mouse pointer. Thanks in advance.

Use TweakUI XP and change the X-Mouse option under Mouse. Either
De-Activate it or set the timeout higher so that the window will not become
active unless the mouse stays on the window for X number of seconds.

Yes, it is a MS program. You can search in Google for TweakUI XP Powertoys
and it will give you the download page.
