Made the mistake of buying Win 2000 Pro for my personal
home/office desktop. Causing lots of problems connected
to "Adminitrator", "Users", etc.
Anyone know how to remove the "Pro" features and make it
into plain old 2000?
I would be willing to buy Win 2003 if it would solve the
problem.

I really appreciate your help. Been messing with this for
four years now.

Thanks Again,

The only other editions of Windows 2000 are server products.

Windows Server 2003 is, as its name suggest, also a server product and as
such not ideally suited to use on a desktop machine (besides which it
probably costs more to buy than your PC did).

Windows XP is the most recent desktop operating system and comes in Home and
Pro varieties.

What are your problems?

Oli

Hi!
I think you have the right version: 'win 2000 pro'.
We don't have "win 2000" and I believe something wrong
with your installation may be? When you see the admin pw,
just write a pw, eg 010101 or your name or whatever.
Regards, nicole
