I've been looking everywhere and can't find what I need to know. I know you
can change the Start Menu to classic which doesn't fix my problem. Is there
any way to change what shows up on the start menu? I would love to be able
to see my programs and when I put the mouse over them the list that comes up
only be the program itself or what can be opened and not every .dll file,
etc. Any ideas? I don't want to remove any of this because I know it's
necessary but I don't want the dumb list to be so long and only want to see
stuff that I'm actually able to open to make the program run. HELP!!! Thank
you.

Hi satrntgr,

It might help, if you posted the version of XP you are running and what
Service Pack level you are at.

One approach(there are certainly others):
Right click Start Menu, select Explore.
On the window that opens, click Programs(just below Start Menu).
Delete, Add, or Move as desired.
