When I go to save a photo in my email message, it automatcally brings up
saving it to BMP file and gives me no choice as to the format to use. I want
to save it to jpg file but can't.

You would have to use a macro. See
http://www.howto-outlook.com/howto/s...edpictures.htm for more info.

You don't say your version of Outlook, but you could try emptying your
Temporary Internet Files to correct this. In IE, Tools, Options, delete temp
files.

For once some instructions that actually work as written. If there are 3
embedded pictures in an email this Saves them all. Doesn't appear you can
selectively choose and Save just one in non-BMP format. Still a neat tool.
note: the Outlook toolbar shortcut can't be made until you Run the Macros the
1st time via Tools and declare that your chosen Sig name is always Trusted.
Then the Project will appear in Tools/Customize/Command/Macros to drag up
into the toolbar. Got a Debug error because I hi-lighted Microsoft Shell
Controls And Automation/OK in Reference step but did not make the Check mark
appear in box. FYI Thanks!
