How to change print memo style to exclude date?

In Outlook 2003, I'm printing some emails and I'd like to exclude the date at
the bottom of the page.

Here's what I'm doing: With the email open, I select File / Print Setup /
Memo Style. The header reads: &w&bPage &p of &P, and the footer reads:
&u&b&d.

I blank out the footer and print the email. But the date still appears in
the footer.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

P.S. I am able to change the header but can't change the footer. (I changed
header to XXXX and that's what printed. But I changed footer to YYYYY and
still got today's date.)

It this an HTML formatted email?
Then modify the footer settings in Internet Explorer.
Outlook 2003 and previous use IE to print HTML formatted emails.

Thanks. Yes, these are HTML formatted email.

I tried what you're suggesting. I assume you're suggesting to Save As in
..htm format, then open in Internet Explorer. It does reflect the revised
header and footer, but now I lose the normal message heading. Normally when
print an HTML formatted message from Outlook 2003, it prints my name and an
underline at the top of the page. (First the page header, then under that, my
name, then a line across the page.) But when I Save As HTML from Outlook,
then open and print in Internet Explorer, I no longer get my name and
underline.

What I'm trying to do is to format the message so that it looks like a
normal message printed from Outlook, only with no date at the bottom of the
page.

Thanks for your help.

No, I mean modify your printing settings in Internet Explorer. There is no
need to save the message as htm in between. As I said, Outlook 2003 and
previous already use IE's printing engine to print HTML formatted emails.

I really appreciate your help, but I still can't get it to work.

Here's what I'm doing: In Internet Explorer, I select File / Page Setup. As
a test, I change Header to XXX and Footer to YYY. Now when I print from
Internet Explorer I see the XXX and the YYY. But when I print from Outlook, I
see the XXX, but the footer still appears as today's date.

Thanks for your help.

The footers on HTML email can't be changed. Nothing seems to apply to them.

Diane is correct on this one. I was confused with the other fields. The date
in the left bottom corner doesn't allow itself to be changed.
