Change print defaults in Outlook

Running Outlook 2007 on XP

I'd like to permanently change some of the print defaults in Outlook.
Specifically:

landscape rather than portrait
2-sided rather than 1-sided
2 pages per sheet rather than 1

Couldn't find that in Tools --> Options. Where should I look?

Did you look at File>Print...?

I have another question: do you want this to apply only to Outlook?

I think I know where you're going with your questions, so I'll try to
respond accordingly.

File>Print doesn't permanently change the print options. It's what I do now,
but I have to do it every time I open the program. It only lasts until I
close Outlook, and I have to re-do it next time I open the application.
That's what I'm trying to avoid.

Outlook is what I'm concentrating on for now, although I would like the same
settings for IE. The settings I need for Excel, Word and other applications
are different. I have created a copy of my printer driver that I use
especially for Outlook. I have saved the printer preferences noted in my
original post (2-sided, 2 pages per sheet, landscape orientation) in that
copy of the printer driver and use it from Outlook. While Outlook honors the
first two settings, it insists on a portrait orientation for some reason. IE
does the same thing.

At a minimum, I would like to *permanently* change Outlook's (and IE's)
default setting to landscape orientation. If I can make the other two
changes, that would be nice too.

As far as I can tell, you have two choices: either change the printer
defaults in the Printers and Faxes folder or put up with changing it for
each application session. I don't believe Outlook (or any other application
that I've tested) has the ability to keep application-specific printer
properties across sessions.

If I can make the other two changes, that would be nice too. THE OTHER TWO CHANGES ARE LESS IMPORTANT TO ME, HOWEVER, BECAUSE OUTLOOK HONORS THE PRINTER DRIVER SETTINGS FOR THEM.

I'm looking for a third option because I already use both of the choices you
mention. The "Printers and Faxes folder" choice is what I'm referring to when
I say I have set the printer driver default to landscape -- Outlook just
ignores it for some reason. So I also change Outlook for each application
session, which works but only for the duration of the session. Sounds likely
that my sought-after third option doesn't exist. Thanks for your help.

What style are you choosing and from what window?

Sorry for the delay - haven't checked back in awhile.

I'm not sure what you mean by "style."

From "Printers and Faxes" I right-click on the printer name, select
"Properties" the click "Printing Preferences" on the general tab. This takes
me to the options available to me under the printer driver, where I have
selected landscape orientation (this doesn't change from session to session
-- it's saved like that in preferences for the printer driver, even when I
log off/log on to the machine). With a few exceptions, other applications
seem to honor the landscape selection associated with the printer driver.
Outlook and IE don't.

Because Outlook doesn't, for each new Outlook session I hit Ctrl-P (to
print, obviously) and click the "Properties" button. This seems to take me to
the same place as selecting "Properties" mentioned above (i.e., same printer
driver interface). I choose the landscape orientation. Outlook will then
honor the landscape selection for the duration of the Outlook session, but
forgets my preference (and doesn't honor the landscape preference stored in
the printer driver) next time I open Outlook.

Before you press CTRL-P (clicking File>Print is the same thing), what window
are you in - are you in a mail folder, selecting the message in the list,
and then pressing CTRL-P or do you opwwn the message first with a
double-click? When you have the Print dialogue open, there is a "Print
Style" pane in the dialogue with one or more styles, like "Memo Style".
Which one is selected?
