Change Orientation in Intellipoint v5

Upgraded to a new mouse (wireless optical mouse 2.0)
using Intellipoint version 5. I can no longer change the
orientation as in version 4. I can not use the mouse the
normal way and I need to change the orientation. I
believe this is because I am really left handed but
forced myself to use my right hand as a child, which is
the one I now use.
Any suggestions?

You have two optoins. First, you can install the old IntelliType 4.2
drivers or you can wait for IntelliType 5.2 drivers to be released.
Personally, I would try the first option until the second one is
available

Get the old version here:

The wireless optical mouse 2.0 will not have full functionality if you use
Intellipoint 4.x.
You will lose scroll wheel support.

If you want to use Intellipoint 4.x, get it directly from Microsoft
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en
4.12 is the latest version of the 4.x version drivers (earlier revisions of
the 4.x software had installation issues with Win9x OS among other
issues...)

Intellipoint 5.2 isn't going to solve the problem of missing Change
Orientation.

I Sorta doubt the reason you are unable to switch your intellimouse orientation
has anything to do with the fact that as a kid, you 'forced' yourself to use
your right-hand. That reminds of a story when I worked in a sheet-metal shop
manufacturing
emergency lighting and my roomate was working overtime cuttiong material for
the
boxes. Well, the shear had pnuematically operated clamps that hold the sheet
when the cut is made, you operate them with a foot pedal, then the shear
makes the cut. He was zooming along getting in a fast-paced rhythum when one
time as he slid the sheet towrds the blade, hit the foot pedal, and noticed
his glove under the clamps; knowing as the blade was going to cycle, he had
extremities too far in. The blade came down, taking the tips of three fingers
off his left hand. All people could say was; "Wow, well at least it was his
left hand." and I'd reply, " Yeah, except for the fact that he's
left-handed." See, it has nothing to do with you forcing yourself; it much
more likely is an issue with the software, and I would certainly suggest a
visit to intellipoint knowledgebase at this link. Good luck!

Thanks again for clarifying. Wasn't sure what all they were bringing
back with 5.2

Thank you for the advice.
Installed v4.0 that came with the mouse and the pc
starting crashing. Removed 4.0 and I am back stable again,
but with no intellipoint software. I am about to load 4.2
but noticed that 5.2 is now available. Will try that first!

Version 5.2 still doesn't have that option (as far as I can tell). It
does have the option for program-specific button setup though.
