How do I change my server to smtp server?

Also when attempting to attach photos from windows photo gallery, I select
the image then click attach, but no mail window opens and nothing attaches.
Therefore I have to send photos that are way too big to view.

Do you know which SMTP server you are supposed to use?
If so, you can change the server information here:
Tools, Accounts, select that account, Properties, Servers.

If you don't know your correct SMTP server name, who is your
mail service provider?

For the second problem, it sounds like Windows Mail doesn't have all
of its defaults. Open the Default Programs applet, which you can access
either from the Start menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item:
"Set your default programs."
After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on "Windows
Mail". If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults"
then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow.
