I don't know how it happened, but my Internet Explorer 6.0's Favorites file
used to be in my C drive and a kept a copy of it in my H drive (external
hard drive.) I noticed that every time I clicked on Favorites in IE, the
external hard drive turned on. I went to My Computer, opened the Favorites
file in the C drive and it was empty. I must have Moved the contents into
my backup in the H drive instead of just COPYING them at some time in the
past. When I check the properties of my favorites, it says the folder is in
the H drive. How do I reassign the Favorites folder that I want used from
the one in my H drive to the one in my C drive?
Thanks in advance.

Hello David,

Download and install Microsoft's TweakUI from here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...powertoys.mspx
You want the 147 KB version on the right (scroll down).

Open TweakUI and go to:
My Computer
Special Folders
Favorites (in the drop-down box)
Click the 'Change Location' button

IE Tools | Internet Options | General | Temporary Internet Files | Settings
| Current location: You can use the MOVE FOLDER... button to, er..., move
your TIF folder (back) to your C: drive (e.g., C:\Documents and
Settings\user\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files).
