When I a ready to publish a file to my remote server from my local PC how can
I change the file path from the local one, file:///C:/Documents ~about.html ,
to a relative one, about.html , I have looked in the options, site settings
etc and just can't work it out.
When I upload my page it still shows the local computer file paths so
nothing works properly.
Help please. I am migrating from Soft Quad HotMetal Pro 6 to Front Page SP
2, but am stuck....

By always having a web / site open in FP before working on your site, as well as importing all
content into your web / site before using it.

It appears you don't have a web open in Frontpage - only a page. This is
one cause of the pointing-to-hard-drive-folder problem.

You have to open a web, then the page(s).

File > Open > Web

then

File > Open > Page.

Make sure you import any files you're using in the site or linking to (File
> Import), as well as images inserted into the pages.

Thanks Andrew, maybe I should begin by saying my site is quite large, I
imported it from the web, via FP Import, it imported all of my files and
linked pages correctly but after editing a page I 'publish' that page to my
server, via ftp, and when it arives it still has the local folder file path.
Could this problem be because I havn't created the site in FP?
Mayb I imported it wrong?
My site on the server used the direct file path,
http://www.paintingsandprints.co.uk/about.html , I think that's the
'absolute' url path, I want it to be the 'relative' file path but FP is doing
neither for me.
Sorry this is so long.

The import function only imports what is seen by a browser, so shared
borders, include files, navigation structure, themes, asp pages, databases,
etc. are not imported.

You must have a FP web created and open before working on a page.
