how to change the link in webpage to another?

I can't sure if here is the right place,if not, sorry about it,and pls
tell me the right group. thx.
There r 2 mirror forum website called mirror1.domain,mirror2.domain.and
now mirror1 is down,but there r lots of link which point to the mirror1 in
some posts of forum member i.e, when they reference others posts.My question
is :
Can I change my local setting to make ie interpret mirror1.domain with
mirror2.domain.
BTW: The forum use cookies.and it doesn't work when I change the hosts file
so that mirror1.domain 's ip is actually the ip of mirror2.domain.
