When word 2010 document is open, under the File tab, there are several
categories such as Save, Save as, Recent document, Print, etc.
I had recently changed my quick documents to show up to the max of 25.
Now the Print selection is at bottom and I have to scroll down to
print, change printer I'm using, etc. I would like to have my document
history show up at bottom of that pane rather than near the top under
the Close choice. I haven't found anyway to change the order in which
these selections can appear in the left pane window. I put my recent
documents back to 5 so I can view my print selection without scrolling
but surely there must be a way to change the order in which these
choices are ordered? I tried dragging them but that will not work.

You can open the Print tab directly by pressing Ctrl+P.

Is that the only option?

I don't know of any other. Regardless of the number of recent documents
shown in that panel, the Recent tab shows as many files and folders as will
fit on the page, and you can pin any number of both.

You can't customize the File tab, if that's what you're asking.

As Suzanne wrote, pressing Ctrl+P (or Ctrl+F2) to display the print options would seem the easiest solution.
