Hello,

I´d like to change the language on menus and dialog boxes to Spanish, and
under help it says to go under "language" tab in the control panel and
regional setting and and pick "Langauge used in menus and dialog". Thing is,
I don´t have this option on my Windows XP.

ANyone know how to change the language on menus and dialog boxes from
English to Spanish in Windows XP? Thanks

Hi,

You didn't fully read the help article. To quote the last line:

"This option is only available in the Windows Multilingual User Interface
Pack. If you are interested in this product, please contact the Microsoft
office nearest you for more information."

The MUI is only available to corporate users of volume licences of WinXP
Pro, it is not available to retail versions (Pro or Home). To do what you
are asking would require a clean installation of the preferred language
version of WinXP.

Buy a retail Spanish version and either setup a dual boot or
do a clean install.

You cannot upgrade or convert from one language version of the OS to
another, so you'll have to use the full version of WinXP (in whatever
language you want) to perform a clean installation.

Hadn't seen that option anywhere previously, David. Going back to the FAQ, I
see that it is now listed as an option for OEM requests. Cool. It won't help
this individual, but it's nice to know the option now exists for buyers.
