Really basic question, once I've setup ICS, and its changed my internal IP
to 192.168.0.1, can I then change this to say 192.168.29.8???? I only want
to use the gateway function, and don't need DNS, DHCP. Will this still work?

Its at a clients site, and I only have remote take over via VNC, and will
loose connection to the machine and have to talk the customer through
changes. I wanted to check with you lot first.

Stu

No, ICS is hard coded to change the IP to 192.168.0.1 and the DHCP service
and DNS Proxy cannot be "turned off". If you are running Windows 2000 Server
you can disable ICS and run RRAS/NAT instead. With RRAS/NAT you don't need
to run DHCP and DNS on the NAT box and the IP address can be whatever you
want.
