I have been using the Autoformat button from the QAT to remove a lot
of paragraph spacing that I didn't want. It generally works well, but
this makes the font of (almost) all the text in the document the Times
New Roman. I have been using Calibri and have come to like it a lot.
Is there any way for me to get the Autoformat function to leave (or
change) the text to be Calibri?

AutoFormat works by applying styles. If you have modified the relevant
styles to use the fonts you prefer, then AutoFormat will use them.

Once again thanks Suzanne. That did it. I went into my styles dialog
and modified the Body Text style--which I thought was set to Calibri
by default. It was still TNR--strange, as I always see Calibri unless
I change it. Oh well all's well that ends well.

You may have changed Normal to Calibri; Body Text should have followed suit,
but who knows?

For once, I do!

No I didn't change Normal at all--most likely due to your insistence.
I left that style with all the defaults, which explains (since Body
Text is based on Normal) why that wouldn't have changed either.

Oh wait...I just reinstalled Vista a few weeks ago.... ok that would
be why my body text style hasn't been behaving as usual.... most
likely I had modified that style earlier.

OK well I guess that explains it....
