Change Font Size in Message and Dialog Boxes

Does anyone know how to change the font size in message and dialog
boxes of an application installed on Win 2000?

All of a sudden some, but not all, applications that I have installed
are using huge fonts that truncate the messages and sometimes hide
checkboxes, so that I cannot use these check boxes.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
