Hi,
I have a folder with quite a few sub directories and would like to make them
behave like the shell namespace extention"C:\Documents and
Settings\(Users)\Start Menu\Programs".

What I mean is that when I create a new SUB-FOLDER in my "H:\music\"
directory, I wish it to automatically generate its own icons, instead of the
shell32.dll,3 generic folder icon, like it will for the All Programs
directory.
- But ONLY for this directory..... (H:\music\)

Do I have to create a new shell namespace extention for this? I would like
to do just that but it is a bit beyond me. Is there something else I can do?
Thanks....

Right-click on the folder name (e.g., H:\music), and select Properties.
Click on Customize tab.

Use the Use this folder type as template, and select Music Files type you
want.
If you don't like the icon, use the Change Icon to what you want.

Thank you for your reply but I wanted to change about oh...200 folders at
once AND since this is my CD RIP directory I will have to change (the folder)
with every new download. I was looking for a more advanced method...

It goes like this:
C:\music folder\ - music_icon.ico
C:\music folder\artists - (all 200+ to share same icon) -music_note.ico
C:\music folder\artists\albums - (all albums to share the same icon)
CD_case.ico

And if I could I'd like every new folder created in C:\music folder\ to
magically append a predefined icon (by my special self).
The only way I can think to do this is to install sketchy file/folder tweak
applications or create my own SHELL NAMESPACE EXTENSION which is a HUGE pain
in the butt.

Is there ANOTHER way other than doing so manually (ie: folder 1> properties/
customize/ new icon, folder 2>properties/ customize/ new icon.....?
JFYI > highlighting all the folders I wish to change and 'change icon' will
NOT work.

Like I said in the first post, Id liike it to behave like the "all programs"
namespace.
