David, I hope you see this.
It finally fell into place.
You didn't mention the Restore button. That leads to Advanced, that leads
to the normal icon change, association change, etc.
So I do see what you described, finally, but the Restore button is needed.
Certainly not very intuitive, if you want to change a file association,
restore is the last thing you want.
