How to change the Explorer set up

Hi, Thanks in advance for any help

When I select 'My Pictures' & the explorer launches, even though they
are all picture files the menu on the left of the window is related to
Music, i.e Music tasks.

This is only the case in my account, in the rest of my familys, they
have tasks related to pictures, i.e view slide show etc etc.

I have wandered around the menus forever trying to find the settings
that will change it back to the Picture mode.

Anyone help ?

Thanks, Colin.

I am not certain this is what you need but right click My Pictures,
Properties, Customise, Use this Folder as a Template and see if the
wrong option has been selected. You may need to look in the Properties
of a sub-folder of My Pictures, rather than the main My Pictures
directory. Mine are in a sub-folder labelled Adobe.

BTW when you select 'My Pictures' are you double clicking a Desktop Icon
or something else?

Hope this helps.

Colin,

Try resetting the folder settings:

Click Start, Run and type C:\
Click Tools, Folder Options
In the View tab, click "Reset all folders"
Click OK.
Close the folder

If that does not help, see Keith Miller's advice here:
http://groups.google.co.in/groups?hl...%40tkmsftngp11
-or-
Common Tasks Don’t Match Folder Type

Note that the Customize tab does not exist for special folders.

Customise and special folders. Aren't MyWebs, and MyeBooks special
folders? I can see neither My Pictures and My Music have Customise tabs.

Surprisingly an Adobe folder in the My Pictures folder does have a
Customise tab or is this not a surprise. FWIW I suspect this folder was
created by Adobe Photoshop Album. What are the rules determining what
folders have a customise tab?

Ramesh has demonstrated the first paragraph of my last post to be
incorrect. However, I would still be interested to know the answer to
the question in the second / final paragraph,

Gerry,

My Webs is added by Frontpage (i think)
My eBooks is a part of Adobe Acrobat Reader.

They are treated as normal folders and they have the Customize tab. The My
Documents, My Pictures, and My Music folders don't have a Customize tab.
