The default is set at 5 seconds per clip. When I click on the clip I want to
play longer and right click and get the properties info. It shows the
duration, time start and time stop...but I can't figure out how to change it.
I want one particular picture to stay on screen for 10 seconds instead of 5
seconds.

You can't change it in properties.
You need to move your mouse pointer to the right edge of the picture until
you get the "resize icon" and then click and drag the picture to the right.

Is this a movie clip or a still picture? If a movie clip, then if it's 5
seconds long it will only be able to last longer if you slow it down. If
it's a still see here
