When I am saving emails I like to save them as "message format" in the save
as type file.

How can I change the "save type as" default to this instead of it always
coming up as "html"

You can't but you can drag and drop messages out of Outlook into an Explorer
folder and they will be created as msg-files. I prefer that method over
using the menu. Even when you want to rename them it is still faster (tip:
use F2).

I tried that and sometimes get the message "Not enough storage is available
to process this command".
