Change default naming of mapped drives

Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to change the way Windows XP assigns a
name to a mapped drive, for example:

If I share a folder call "sharedfolder" on a server called "server1" and
mapped it to drive H, the mapped drive would be named:

'sharedfolder' on 'server1' (H

Is there a registry setting or something similar built into Windows XP that
would only show the name of the shared folder (i.e. sharedfolder) and
nothing else?

I've already seen a hack that allows you to set the name permanently for a
drive letter in the registry, but that's not what I'm looking for because if
the drive letters are mapped to different shares, the old name remains.

Any help would be appreciated.
