In Word options/save I can control the default file locations, but not that
of Normal.dotm or normal11.dot.
In office 2003 this was easy.
Could not locate any way to change this. Any ideas?

Normal.dotm is saved in the folder assigned at Word Options > Advanced >
File Locations > User Templates.
Ensure the changed folder is set as a trusted location.
