The Page Number character style is (or should be) defined as Default
Paragraph Font +, so it should reflect the underlying paragraph style, which
should be Header or Footer. Since these are based on Normal, with the
addition only of some tab stops, they should be Verdana if the font of
Normal is Verdana. Check the formatting of all those styles to make sure
that they are as they should be.
