change the color label text in my calendar

I see thru online help that to change the labels that are associated with
colors for the entries in my calendar, I click calendar coloring and then
edit labels. The edit labels function is grayed out and I wonder if there a
hidden tab somewhere that's checked. I used to have this function and we
switched to an inhouse exchange server and the function is lost. Help!!!!
