How to change browser config so Adobe reader opens outside the browser

When I open an i.e. link that opens an adobe reader page,
the page opens within the browser window. The browser
then freezes and I must close it thru
control/alt/delete. I remember at some point being given
the option to allow adobe reader to open within the
browser but cannot figure out how to undo this choice. I
have uninstalled and then reinstalled Adobe reader, but
this does not solve the problem. Any help would be
appreciated.

Your answer can be found in acrobat. Open it up and edit, preferences. Click
on the internet tab on your left and unclick display PDF in browser.

Hope that helps,
